In short: Gleam is free to download and use, but it is not open source. You may install and run the official installer on your own devices, for yourself or inside your business. You may not copy, share, change or resell the app, its name, mascot or logo.

This software and its source code, design, architecture, prompts, mascot, logo and
accompanying documentation (the "Software") are the exclusive property of Brian Mwai
and are protected by copyright and trade secret law. The name "Gleam", the Gleam
mascot and the Gleam logo are Brian Mwai's marks.

Being able to read the source code grants no licence to it. Except under a separate
written agreement signed by the copyright holder, no person may:

  1. copy, publish, distribute, sublicense, sell, rent or lend the Software or any
     part of it, in source or compiled form;
  2. modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works from it;
  3. reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any compiled build of it, except to
     the narrow extent that such an act cannot lawfully be prohibited;
  4. remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or ownership notice in it;
  5. use the Gleam name, mascot or logo; or
  6. use it to build, train or evaluate a competing product.

End users: anyone who downloads an official Gleam installer published by Brian Mwai
may install and run the compiled application on their own devices, for their own
personal or internal business use. That licence is personal, non-exclusive,
non-transferable and revocable, and grants no rights in the source code.

Third-party open source components carry their own licences, which govern those
components only and confer no rights in the Software as a whole.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER
LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE.
